I'm torn

More vellum and a similar card to yesterday but with a twist of torn and embossed white vellum. It has been glorious weather here in Swansea over the last few days. So I will be taking advantage of this and heading on down to the Gower, a beautiful part of the country (even though I say so myself).

Have a great day whatever you do & see you tomorrow xx

Daddy dearest

A little something for my Dad, either for Father's day or his birthday, which are quite close together, but I haven't decided yet. I wanted to use this stamp for a masculine card and quite like the outcome.

Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather, have a great weekend & see you tomorrow xx

The winner takes it all

Good morning all, I have been trying to think of what to do with vellum and thought it might be nice to make something 3D with it. It's a cute little love note box with a vellum lid stamped and embossed.

Also today I would like to give special mention to three lovely ladies Aimes, Sara & Kate who I know, that if they lived down the road from me, we would be the best of friends popping round and chatting all day long, having fun. They have all been so kind and supportive and have bestowed on me this award "for a blog whose content or design, in the giver's opinion, brilliant".

The conditions of the award are:

I must thank the person who gave me the award, list their blog and link to it.
I must list 10 honest things about myself (oh god help us lol).
I must put a copy of The Honest Scrap Logo on my blog.
I must select at least seven other worthy bloggers & list their links.
I must notify the bloggers of the award.

Brace yourself, here are my 10 things:

1, I love the banana sweets you can get from your local market.

2, I live in my pyjamas (when I am not in work obviously lol).

3, I have very long naturally curly hair ( which I hate sometimes as it gets frizzy).

4, I get a little queasy about things that come in squeezy tubes, e.g. toothpaste, tomato sauce, etc (go figure ?).

5, I love to dance & sing (I am no good at it by the way but I still try).

6, I have three freckles on my right upper arm all in a row next to each other and nowhere else on my body.

7, I was a huge fan of INXS as a teenager and was madly in love with Michael Hutchence after seeing them live at Wembley.

8, When I was nine we went on a family holiday to San Antonio. We went to see a show where The Three Degrees were playing and they invited me and some other young girls on stage to sing with them!

9, My favourite colours are any shades of blue.

10,I love all sports(probably because I can't play any of them ha!) and saw the New York Yankees (baseball) at the Yankee stadium in New York.

Now to pass it on to some lovely people:

Joanne

Claire Brennan

Judy

Jo

Leann

Jenny

Natalie

Sarah-Jane

There are lots more people obviously that I love to visit but for now have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

The wonder of you

I am still on such a high from the most excellent birthday yesterday. After being brought croissants and freesias in bed first thing in the morning, to opening some lovely cards from family and friends (especially the one from my son which had a broccoli family on the front doing a funny, which he thought was hysterical ). I heard Mr Postie deliver something that went thud, those are the best one's :), my servant for the day brought the letters to me and of course I went straight to the large one (thinking I haven't ordered anything, have I )?

To my absolute delight on opening, out poured the delicious card above and stash sent by the angels themselves - well from Kate actually. I had no idea she even knew when my birthday was ! - what a talented, generous and thoughtful friend I have truly made. I am so lucky to know her and so grateful to be part of her life (gush, gush - sorry). I have had so many wonderful messages from fellow bloggers, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Normal service to resume tomorrow, but just had to share with you what amazing people there are out there. Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Your my inspiration

As you can see I do get my inspiration from the oddest places sometimes. Why only last week I got some from my jammie's lol. This literally was inspired by the little woven shopping bag I bought from Tesco's. I must also give praise to the legendary Angie at chick n' scratch for the tutorial of the the ladybird. I came up with the wording on my card from a silly song my husband and I used to sing to each other jokingly (picture it now, we were like Sonny & Cher but him without the mustache and my bottom being slightly larger ha!). You know the one 'your the lady, your the lady, that I love. Well I though it might make a sweet anniversary, sorry or valentines card.

It's my Birthday today so we will being going out for lunch and a run round the park (not so much of the running for me though after a big lunch lol) with my hubbie and little one. I can tell you to now what I will be getting as a present, as it is my longed for wish come true and become a Stampin Up demonstrator.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Oops I did it again

So I was having a lovely afternoon, mooching around looking at some blogs and saw that Stamp with us, a fantastic Stampin Up challenge site, had a great challenge to use 2 x ribbons, 1 x flower, 1 x button and 1 x patterned paper. This sounded like fun and proceeded to have a go producing, what I thought was quite a nice little card.

Hours later, after photographing and editing it dawned on me that I had got a bit carried away with the 1 x patterned paper bit. At first I thought ok so it's 2, but it is the same colour maybe I can get away with it until I realised that I have in fact used 3 x pattered paper. I was doing so well that in the first 5 minutes of making it I had to pull off brads and replace them with punched out card because of the challenge. I must be some sort of non conformist deep down ( I did try to stick to the challenge, honest guv' lol).

A special mention goes out today for this little cherub, Evee who lights up any room she is in and is such a joy to have as a niece. It's her 1st birthday today - Happy Birthday sweetness from your Auntie Em, Uncle Mike and big boy cousin Samuel - we love you with all our hearts xxxxx

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

And now for something completely different

This is a little card I made for a colleague who has managed to 'escape' and is off to bigger and better things. I thought I would use Stampin Up's scrummy polkadot & petals paper, they are so springy and I love the colour turquoise. Still enjoying the beautiful weather here in South Wales - hope it's nice where you are.

Thanks for stopping by & see you tomorrow xx

Finally

Phew, finished and delivered to my Mum today. This is such a wow present to give but it does take some work (especially for me as I never know when to finish and put down the card ). It's my Mum's birthday today (Pemblwydd Hapus Mammy) and as her main language is welsh a little nod to that.

Hope everyone is enjoying the Whitsun break, the weather is lovely here today. I have been to the Marina and eaten so much Chinese food that I may not need feeding again for a fortnight lol.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Where have you gone to my lovely

I have finished the stationery box for my Mum and this is another card from the set. I'm a bit in the dark about my blog at the moment as blogger is throwing a major tantrum and not letting me see any of my posts. Hopefully everything looks ok as I have had a few comments, unless people are being polite lol.

Hopefully you will see me tomorrow (I don't know if I will see me though ha!) xx

Wishin' & hopin'

More cards for my little stationery box ( I meant to say when I posted it the other day that I had the instructions from the legendary Jacki Topa here). As we speak Mr Blogger is being spooky, one minute no pictures, next it won't let me log on arrrrrr. Hey ho, from today I am off work for a blissful ten days !! who hooooooo. But if my boss is reading this - I miss you all so much and of course, I would work for nothing on a volunteer basis but I have crafty needs to sustain LOL.

Any hoo, have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Life is like a butterfly

These pretty little 'love notes' are part of the stationery box I made for my Mum (see yesterday's post). I love making note cards this size as they are so cute and are really quick and easy to do.

At the moment I am all about spreading the word that is 'Devotion to the Dream'. As the big day soon approaches to sign as a Stampin Up demonstrator, I really, really, really want it to work. More for the fun of it than anything else, to prove that I can do it and to find some kindred spirits out there( I can't be the only loony lady who loves to stroke paper and fantasizes about new stamp sets I MUST have lol ?). There is not much going on in Swansea stamping wise but I am hoping to pioneer the first outpost of rubber stamping retreats here locally over the coming months.

Here's hoping, have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Living in a box

This, when complete, will be one of my mother's birthday gifts. I was given something similar to this (shop bought) when I was small girl and I think back now and realise that I have always loved pretty paper, ribbons and bows and never lost that little girl feeling when creating or receiving gifts like these.

And the inside when truly finished ( I will post soon) with some cards, tags and some note cards will, I think, look lovely.

Have a happy day & see you tomorrow xx

Celebrate good times

This is my entry for the inspiration challenge over on ILWS from the lovely Kate. I ummed and aahed over it a bit and was stuck until my recent visit back home for the fancy dress parade in my Mum's village, where I was spoilt as usual to a hearty dinner and the most gorgeous pair of pj's (nothing finer that being spoilt by your Mammy is there). These pyjamas had a plain top with a scalloped neck which had buttons along the scallop and the bottoms had all this crazy writing over them. Along with the inspiration challenge and my new pj's I had a card in my mind.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

P.s The lovely ladies, Kate & Steph have the most amazing candy over on their blog (I am feeling a bit faint just thinking about it lol).

Here's to you Mrs Robinson

Well it's Mrs Roberts actually, but it's close enough for me. The card is for my son's teacher who is leaving this week to have her baby. I was thinking, I can't give her a congratulations card or a good luck one, so thought what did I wish for her and found the sentiment to be ideal for this occasion. Some of you followers will recognise the layout as I have already used it once here.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Pretty papers, pretty ribbons

This pretty little number was another recent make & take project from Joanne. All the components were sent to me and I had a free reign to make it up how I liked. A clean & simple layout, I think it was an old Mojo Monday sketch but can't remember.

Had a fab day yesterday at the fancy dress parade, Samuel decided he wanted to be mechanic and looked very cute, although I am not aloud to tell him that, I've got to say he looks 'cool'.

Have a great Sunday & see you tomorrow xx

Splish splash...

........ I was taking a bath bom bom bom bom.

Good morning all, this little bit of fun is for my Mum from my son ( Mamgu means grandmother in Welsh) for her Birthday, which is very soon. I am also in the middle of making her one of those pretty stationary boxes with all the pockets and whatnots in them and will show it to you soon.

We are off the the local fancy dress parade with my son today - who is either going as Ben 10 or a mechanic, it depends on what mood he's in I suppose (I don't know what goes on in that little head of his sometimes ?)

Also we have a clever clogs out there who goes top of class. Curlywhiskers&twitchingnoses got the question I posed a couple of days ago, which was 'flowers on the wall' name the band and title. The answer being Flowers on the wall by the Statler brothers - well done you clever thingy ( she also has some lovely blog candy too).

Have a great day whatever you do & see you tomorrow x

Circle in a spiral

I cannot think of a better way of showing off this lovely tea party designer series paper from Stampin Up than the simple layout of this card. Paper has to be one of my favourite aspects of card making. Nobody guessed the song and band from yesterday's title, so I am not telling ha!! lol.

Have a fun day & see you tomorrow x

Flowers on the wall

I wasn't sure about this colour combination when I saw it originally, but now I have used it I really like the different look it gives. Another quick one today as I'm afraid my daily posting schedule, combined with working full time and looking after scamp is catching up with me a bit. But I do love blogging and I am having so much fun - hope you are too.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow (I hope) xx

p.s my husband (the nutter) wants to give extra points ?(points for what I shout at him) if you can tell me the song and artist from the title of today's post and I will reveal the answer tomorrow and if this catches on, maybe a little prize at the end?

Just a quick one today. I had so much fun with this card, I love that American Crafts clouds paper and thought it would be perfect with this stamp. I imagine that the girl is thinking hmmm what stamps should I buy today lol, well that's what I think about these days when I'm away with the fairies.

Monster mash

This card is a little bit sneaky, I loved the layout of the card I cased here and so used it again( for an emergency my son has a party to go to which I totally forgot about, card) for a boy, which is only slightly better to do than a male card.

The only thing that stopped me was when my husband came in and said Emma it's nearly Monday do you think you should stop, or at least rest or pee !! hee hee. Kraftwork

This card was inspired by a little reel of paper twine which was recently purchased on a rare trip to Ikea. I was determined along with the excellent storage rails I purchased that I was going either get something from there to alter or something to put on a card and so had this paper twine which I got in black & white.

I have also been encouraging my family members to produce a 'you've been framed' moment or regale any highly amusing or embarrassing stories they have been involved in at any time so I can post it on my blog for a few laughs, as my material is getting a bit flat- funny thing though I had no response ?! LOL!!!!

More little cherry bakewells today, well that's what everyone thinks they look like. All I know is that I could happily sit down and devour several of them with a huuuuge cup of tea, mmmmm. If you can't tell I have started a diet and am fantasizing about cakes already, even the craft ones hee hee.

Would like to give a special mention to Aimes who has so graciously given me an award. I am sending out big luv & hugs to this gal who always leaves such lovely comments that make my smile last all day.

More bag-a-lope's and little 'love note' cards, it's such a great idea and so quick & easy to do. For full instructions follow the link on my other post a little bit further down. Anyway I made it to work yesterday, despite the greatest temptation to take the turn off for the airport road and make a bid for freedom hee hee!

Fade to grey

Back to reality today and back to work ugh, so just a quick post. I love monochromatic cards, especially using other tones like grey, green & brown. I think I will make this card a few different times using other colours.

Have a great day (I'll try & resist the urge to have my usual day before returning to work after a break fantasy of running away and living like simple folk on a small island in the Maldives, where I will sell my crafty fayre and my hubbie does odd jobs for the locals LOL).
See you tomorrow xx.

Pappa's got a brand new bag

A bag-a-lope that is lol. This is what I made from the components of a make and take that was sent to me by the lovely Joanne. Every month we get a project posted and details of how to do it and this month it was a beautiful card. But being me and getting carried away on a whim I decided to make it into a bag with three little 'love note' cards inside. I found the instructions to make the bag-a-lope here (it's so brill), you think naa I ain't ever gonna make a bag out of an old envelope !!? but it works hee hee.

Enjoy the break everyone & see you tomorrow xx

Blowing in the wind

I have been trying to build my stash up of some different types of cards for babies, new home, anniversary etc and I love this stamp. It reminds of when I used to have a line full of washing, blowing in the breeze of my sons tiny little outfits. Ha if you could see him know - the big lanky thing that he is lol.

Have a fabby day & see you tomorrow xx

Sweets for my sweet

Easy title today as these little beauties are filled with an assortment of smarties and jelly babies. They were a last minute entry and had to be negotiated from my son in exchange for a left over Easter egg and being desperate to take the pictures and no means of getting other sweets at the time he had me over a barrel lol. Anybody who is a Stampin Up fan (there will be lots out there I'm sure) will recognise the template for these from the mini catalogue that's out at the moment.

Also please pop over & see a real good friend of mine - a kindred spirit. The lovely Kate, she has the classiest blog candy ever.

Have a great weekend & see you tomorrow xx

Brand new combine harvester

Ok I know it's not technically a combine harvester but they do mention a tractor in the song LOL. I received this little guy just a couple of days ago. I bought it primarily because it reminded me so much of my little munchkin on a toy tractor - he loved it so much. I believe that this picture was what he imagined he looked like when he was on his tractor - the little sweetie.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx
