Hello again, hello

I am sitting on a GOLD MINE of titles when I use this sweet set called hello again from Stampin' Up! I can think of lots of songs and lyrics with the word hello in it - yippee (I know I'm sad). Today's card is a great for using up scraps of beautiful patterned paper that you can't bear to throw away. I am of the school of never throw anything away, well precious crafty stuff that is. I'm ruthless when it comes to everything else in the house, although it is REALLY difficult to do this as my husband is the reincarnation of Mr Trebus (remember him from the life of grime, the old gentleman who couldn't get in his own house for 'stuff').

Well I hope everyone has a spooktacular weekend & I will see you on Monday xx

P.s Oooh I nearly forgot tomorrow is the last chance for you to take advantage of my own personal offer of 10 % off all Stampin' Up! goodies before P&P with no minimum spend.  Give me a shout here if you want anything :D

Hello, hello ( I love the Beatles) and good morning. A nice cheery and happy card for you today made with very sweet set from Stampin' Up! called hello again (which surprise, surprise reminds of another song - I think I will save that for another title).

Not much going on at the mo, just some preparations for the Halloween party we are having tomorrow night. Dusting off the cobwebs and preparing the mystery box of goo (cooked, cooled spaghetti) for the kids to play lucky dip with - whoo hoo what fun we will have. Along with the candy floss machine, pass the parcel and musical statues we are in for a treat ;D

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Great balls of.......

....sparkle hee hee! Sorry I am in a silly mood today, I always am when we turn the clocks back. Maybe because my five year old doesn't partake in the lying in thing and was of course up before the birds on Sunday morning and I am still 'feeling' the lack of sleep in my bones :D

I have to say I like this card (am I allowed ?). I had an eureka moment with Stampin' Up!s snow flurries set and the 3/4" and 1/4" circle punches to make the "baubles". Also I love the taken with teal and rose red combination :D I hope you like too.

He's checking it twice

Well I am checking my lists twice as I have put my name down for so many Craft Fayre's on the run up to Christmas it will be like Santa's crafty factory in my house for the next six weeks. It does seem at the moment that everyone is making note pads and not be outdone! I have made my own little version.

I made the wallet to fit a standard 7.5 x 21 cm ruled pad which you can get at most supermarkets etc. With an added bonus of some twill tape looped (see picture below) to put your pen in maybe. The only trouble is I need about 3 of these with all the organising I will need to do hee hee.

Ink: Black stazon.

Stop, oh yes wait a minute Mr Postman

Morning all hope you are well. My title for today is a nod to current affairs but mainly to say how relieved I am that my Stampin' Up! delivery comes via UPS delivery service. I say this only because I am due a bit of a desperate shipment today and it is on schedule to arrive - thank goodness. Not that I have any problems with my postie but it is a difficult time for everybody concerned.

As anyone that knows me, they would know how much I HATE having my photo taken, but you would laugh if you could see me now. I am sitting getting ready to help out at my son's school Monster Mash disco dressed up completely normal with trousers and a shirt but with a great huge pair of flashing devil horns on my head - I think my son may disown me - hee hee.

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday xx

Morning all and thanks to you all I am reassured in the fact that I am not the only song maker-upper in the world hee hee. But thanks to Helen (not) - I have been singing Abba's she called you last night from Tescooooooo's all blinkin day ;D lol! (btw Helen the white edge to my image yesterday was made by using a drop of the whisper white craft ink from the refill bottle and smudging a bit out on my finger and running it around the edge of the circle - although I shouldn't be doing you any favours ;D

Today's card is using the hostess set darling dots - such a great set with so many cute images which happily all fit into the circle punches. Once I punched the image out and cut out the leaf, I popped some of them up on dimensionals and left the rest flat.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Poetry in motion

Hee hee, sorry for chuckling to myself but this title does make me laugh. I was thinking of a song lyric or title for today's post with maybe a tree or something in it and this song popped into my mind. I can only admit this secret shame of mine to you my lovely readers and friends as a show of my devotion for you ;D I love all sorts of music and from an early age I have listened to artists from 60's 70's and so on and up until maybe three years ago I thought that the song 'poetry in motion' was 'oh a tree in motion'!!!!!!!!!???? eeeeeeeeeeeeeee . Picture me now as it comes on the radio singing at the top of my voice 'OH A TREE IN MOTION tra la la - hee hee.

I would love to know if you have done anything similar to my numptyness. Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

*song from previous post was we are the champions by Queen.

Friday 16 October 2009

We are the champions my friend

The title of today's post is in honour of the conquering hero that is my son. He triumphantly won the night at his weekly rugby game. Even though I said it myself he is fast and flew past all the opposition :D

My card for today was another one of those that happened accidentally on purpose if you know what I mean. I had the luscious nouveau chic papers out from yesterday's card and also the little Christmas tree out on the table from when I was making my other cards from this week. I was leafing (ok stroking) the paper and I came across this particular pattern and it reminded me slightly of a tree. Well a bit of kraft, sage shadow and basic grey card stock later, along with some white craft ink smudged around the edges of the circle and hey presto.

Have a great weekend and thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me such wonderful comments - they really do make my day. See you on Monday xx

*Song from yesterday's title was (the version I was thinking of) sung by Dean Martin

Thursday 15 October 2009

Oh baby it's cold outside

I don't know about where you are but it has been freezing down this neck of the woods in the mornings. I really haven't felt like getting out of my duvet at all (not that I do any morning mind) brrrrr. Anyhoo lots to say and tips to tell on this card. Firstly the fresh cuts stamps, as it is a largish stamp, to make it fit on a smaller bit of card stock I placed four post-it-notes around the edges, just in a little, so when I stamped the image it left a nice little border around the edge of the image. Secondly the image itself which I stamped in basic grey ink but then went over with my blender pens dipped into the basic grey ink to create shadows on the solid image parts of the stamps. I think you should be able to see it on the pic.

I hope you like, especially the yummy new nouveau chic papers too (super lush). Have a great day & see you tomorrow xx

Supplies from Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Fresh cuts.
Card stock: Sage shadow, very vanilla, basic grey and kraft.

He's making a list

Me too! I love lists. Is it me or do crafters generally love all things listy. I think my first real crafty love as a little girl was this beautiful stationary set my mother had bought me which included a little note book where I would put all my little lists of important things like sweets, beano comics and what I would I spend with the rest of my pocket money.

See I told you I loved this colour combination (taken with teal & whisper white) but I do have a variation on the theme as I have done one in real red too :D The background on this card is made with the the gorgeous jolly wheel from Stampin' Up! I love the 'weird' looking snowflakes - very funky.

Kindred spirit

Hello and happy Mondays :D everyone. I had a lovely weekend, the craft fayre was sunny and busy but and more importantly I found a fellow stash sniffer - whoo hoo. You see it has been my life long search since I started this crafting malarkey to also find the crafty people of Swansea to share my passion for stroking and sniffing paper, ribbon and stamps etc. Also for them not too look at me like "ding, ding all aboard for loony central".

I knew that I could only find them if I went out into Swonzee land, and indeed on Saturday I did, so a big hello to Marie who came past my stall on Saturday and said those immortal words ooh you're a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, well it was like music to my ears lol! For one she had heard of rubber stamping and even more amazingly she had heard of Stampin' Up!

Well a little bit about my card today, phew after all that excitement :D Please note the colour combination as you will probably be seeing a lot of it from me for my Christmas projects. It is taken with teal and whisper white and they really do make an awesome combination.

Have a great day & see you tomorrow, I am still on cloud nine from my crafty encounter :D

Supplies from Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Snow flurries and sparkly &; bright.
Ink: Taken with teal and versamark.

You've got a friend

Morning all and thank crunchie it's Friday - what a troublesome week it has been. Lots of niggly little things going on, work has been crazy and I am just pooped. So hurrah for the lazy days and happy stamping. Today's card is was going to be be for a fantastic person, a real classy lady and my dear friend Kate. I say was because it is now soggy and at the bottom of the bin - sorry Kate, an accident with a bottle of water and a five year old, with maybe a few blue words once he had left the room ;D. Luckily I had taken a picture of it as I was going to post about it next week after you had received it. Anyway Kate - this one's for you honey just because ;D and to thank you so much for being you, I received my beautiful card this morning - it has pride of place already.

Hope you all have a great weekend, I'm off to the Ostreme centre in the Mumbles in Swansea tomorrow for my usually monthly jaunt at the craft fayre xx

And now for something completely different! This is the prototype for some Halloween invites I have been conjuring up for my son's party. What do you think ? I always like to try a sample out before I go ahead with the mass production of invites. I think I will go with this one. The background paper is made from an old thriller that had fallen to pieces lying around the house but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the book - oh well I hope the 5 year old 's can't read it hee hee. A little shot of the inside too :D

Well I was hoping to play with my new stash last night but the blinkin UPS man came yesterday at the only time my husband was out of the house for 5 minutes all day - bum :( Hey ho I have now instructed hubby to not move his bot from the front room window tomorrow ;D

This is your song

Hello all, as some of my regular followers will notice all of the titles for my posts are song titles or lyrics. It didn't start that way but as I have mentioned before I am always humming, singing or whistling a little ditty and this would inspire me at the time of posting my daily antics on here. A little pattern started to emerge and then it became more for fun and the challenge to find a song that matched either the mood I was in or the news I had or about the project I had done.

I explain all of this to you because I get quite a few questions about what songs I use in my titles and yesterday Aimes (whoo hoo love) asked if I had used her favourite song as a title. Well the song for yesterday was I feel fine by the Beatles ( their 6th number one as my husband shouts out that information in my ear hole). That's why everyday from now, just as a bit of trivia for you I will list at the bottom of my post the title and band of the song from the previous day's title, which can give you a chance to have a little guess if you want too ;D

Any hoo this is the last of my mad goody bag give aways. If you are in the UK please leave me a comment on this post before 10pm this evening and will announce the winner tomorrow. Ooh I nearly forgot the layout for today's card for you eagle eyed peeps is taken from a card on page 35 of the new Stampin' Up! catalogue - If you want a catalogue for just £4 delivered or any goodies drop me a line here :D

Turn back the pages

What a whirlwind of a day I had yesterday, you know the good busy days. I was up well past midnight for the release of the new Stampin' Up! catalogue. With all the buzz on the forum and a great little blog hop. Up for the school run (well walk in our house), work which was especially busy as it's flu injection season - ouch ;D. Then to a whistle stop table top sale which went down really well and where I sold lots of the bookmarks from today's pic. They are made, talking of medical things from tongue depressants and I have made them lots of times in different shapes and forms and they are such fun. Home then to sort his nibs and as previously mentioned I placed my gargantuan Stampin' Up! order. I am usually, believe it or not very frugal when it comes to my crafty spends and normally allow myself x amount of money every month - but whey heyyyyyyyyy not this month ;D hee hee.
