I got stripes

Morning all - did my card wake up your eyes this morning lol! Do not adjust your set there are stripes on this card. Wooo a little snazzy number for you today using an upcoming mini background stamp called solid stripes. I was using it on another project and noticed the paper left behind after I had stamped the die cut flowers and loved it.

The inspiration for the colours I had from a shirt and tie combo I saw in a shop window while in London a couple of weeks ago. So my tidbit for today is look at the pieces you would chuck away - just maybe they were what you were looking for in the first place.

Have a great day & see you Monday - hope you can join me as I may have some bloggaverssary candy on offer!!!

A choir of angels sang

Morning all, I hope you do not mind but all I can jabber on today is my amazing weekend away in London. On Saturday afternoon at 2pm the beautiful Sarah and my Cousin Paul were married at St Paul's Cathedral - WOW what an experience! I was totally blown away by the awe inspiring chapel and not to mention the (send shivers down your spine) choir that sang so dramaticallyat the service.

It was back to the andaz hotel for drinks, canopes, speeches, followed by the poshest meal I have EVER had. You know the ones where all the staff come in at the same time and get the nod from the head waiter on when to place your plate on the table. People constantly topping up your water and wine - yippee!

Then for the most amazing surprise of all, when after the meal we were asked to go to the "temple" for drinks and music. Well you could have knocked me down with a feather - you should have seen this room OMG!! This room was recently discovered by surveyors when the hotel was taken over a few years ago, they were refurbishing it one of the surveyors could see on the plans that there was this room but they couldn't find it anywhere in the hotel. They went to the site of the room and had the builders smash down the walls only to reveal a masonic lodge!! which was completely untouched for maybe 100 years. This place was like nothing I had ever seen before, from the thrones to the marble columns, the ceiling in bright turquoise and gold astrological carvings. As you can imagine there were symbols and signs every - this place was like some find from Indiana Jones.

Anyway I have gone on a bit I'm sorry but that has to go down in the book as one of the most amazing days ever :D Have a great and see you tomorrow xx

I am looking forward to a right knees up and sausage roll (although I don't think it will be that sort of wedding but I will try best hee hee!)

My card for today I am rather fond of, it was one of those that sort just appeared by itself more or less. This is another design team card for the colour challenge over at in love with stamping.

You've got a friend

Hello to you and hurrah for Friday. Alas no day at home getting inky for me this day but off to the hairdresser for a good trim (nervously watching the hairdresser snip my locks and secretly measuring the amount he is trimming off LOL!). I have had my hair so long for so long I get palpitations if more than an inch is lost!

Off into to town then for some last minute things for the big wedding next weekend. I have a suit at last, I chose colours very similar to this card here believe it or not. A lovely pale grey suit with a burnt orange silk blouse. Just some jewellery and a pair of shoes today - so not as painful as real shopping - I may "pop" to the haberdashers to ease the pain and fondle some ribbon :D

I forgot to mention the other day too that my best blogging bud Aimes (award winning superstar) is celebrating her bloggaversary and has the most scrumdumptious candy on offer - please click along and join in the fun. Gonna be a record breaker

Today I decided to have a little fun and set myself a quest to see how many challenges my card would fit into out there in super blog land. Surprisingly I found quite a few. Firstly cupcake crafts with the theme of circles, next was 2 sketches 4 you with this sketch (obviously !). Then it was my time to craft with it's theme being just for Mum and because I am welsh and common as muck LOL! I say Mam and Mammy :D Next was papertake weekly with it's theme being buttons, bows, brads and bling - using all or just the one. Finally the last one (I know - how many I have done! and apologies if this is breaking all challenge etiquette - I can only plead stupidity) was cute card Thursday with ribbon tastic.

Phew what fun :D - hope you have a great day and see you soon xx

It is a stamped candle and you can find a tutorial for this technique here, which is not as scary as you think, just be sure to only heat the image very quickly.

These cards are from the Stampin' Up! workshop I did last Friday. Simple yet stylish I think and so did the lovely ladies. I also braved a new technique of stamping on a candle (I will take some pics of this ) too, which I have have to say I loved.

Two hearts

Good morning star shine :D and I promise you I didn't make the card just because of the title, it is a happy coincidence hee hee! This is my entry for the valentine themed challenge over at Aimes & Kate's blog. The gingham looks black on the pic but it is a dark blue to match the hearts.

Anyway no luck in the old frock hunting trip the other day. Well it was going to be a tough ask, as I was looking for a reasonably priced outfit which makes a big old gal like myself look like I could fit into a size 10 - phah! Dedicated follower of fashion

Yoohoo Friday and a warm welcome to all my bloggy friends. Today's title is in honour of the fact that I HAVE to go clothes shopping today or tomorrow - bleh! As you may have gathered I hate clothes shopping, which my 15 year old self would probably have fallen down in sheer fright and disbelief of the fact that you can grow out of the love for it. Crafty stash shopping is a completely different story, obviously!. This is in aid of having to get a new suit for the upcoming royal (not) wedding of my cousin Paul at St Paul's Cathedral in a few weeks.

Any tips greatly received on avoiding the situation totally (believe me I have tried t'internet) and failing that recovery from the ordeal LOL!

Have a super weekend and see you on Monday xx
